A Day at Dad’s Work

Contributing to this blog today is Jake, Kade, Lilya, and Kat. All of our dad’s work at WhitePages.com. Today was bring your kids to work day. From the wee hours on the morning bus to the ice cream sundaes awaiting at four, we’ve been working hard at understanding what our dad’s do. Not only have we been learning but we’ve been having tons of fun. Today we’ve had an information scavenger hunt, played games, had very yummy lunch, and with more to come.

The first thing we did was have a scavenger hunt. Our mission was to collect as much information about the people in the different departments as we could. We asked them about their favorite thing about working here, and a lot said free food. We also asked them about their jobs, which confused a lot of us. Going up and down the elevator and running around the office building was very confusing as well. We took pictures and collected business cards in order to remember the different people.

The next thing we did was play. There were ton’s of video games along with ping pong, air hockey, and mad libs. Not only did we get to challenge our parent to competitive games, but we usually won! The mad libs told a silly story of a bring your kids to work day, and they made us all laugh. While we played the games we sat on these humongous bean bag chairs. If they were monsters they could eat us! The littler kids liked jumping all over them.

Arguably the best part of going to work with my dad was all the free yummy food! All through the day we had tons of snacks for the taking. They ranged from gummy bears to cheetos, along with every kind of soda ever made. We also had The California Pizza Kitchen come in and fix us lunch. Although there was no pizza, we pigged out on different pasta dishes that were just as good. Later we get ice cream with tons of different toppings!

For the most part the best thing about going to work with my dad, was spending lots of time with him. He showed me a lot of what he does and introduced me to all his friends. Everything that involved being with my dad was super fun.

All in all the day at my dad’s work was very cool. With the scavenger hunt, all the games, and all that food there was never a dull moment.
