At WhitePages, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how to make it simple for people to connect – any time, anywhere.  With mobile phones being the most common way that people connect, we began a concerted effort to offer new ways to use WhitePages on mobile phones.

This began with the launch of our WhitePages Mobile for iPhone application in August of 2008.  The app quickly shot up to the Top 5 of the App Store charts, and it was clear we had a hit! Since then, we expanded our mobile plans and tackled apps for Android, BlackBerry, and revamped m.whitepages.com.

It’s been very busy in the WhitePages Mobile group lately, and this time I think we’ve really outdone ourselves.   So, I wanted to give you an update on WhitePages Mobile for BlackBerry – now available in BlackBerry App World.

We’ve had a mobile version of the WhitePages.com website for a while, but only over the past year have people begun using the mobile internet on a broad scale.  According to ComScore, U.S. mobile internet usage doubled from January 2008 to January 2009 — with over 63 million people now accessing the internet from their phones each month and over 22 million doing it every day.
