The NFL Name Game

The NFL is known for its perpetual roster of wacky names. Some names suggest that they were born to play America’s past time (Boss Bailey or Titus Brown), others are perhaps more suitable for an adult film (Tank Johnson or Je’Rod Cherry). And then there are the names that even the most seasoned announcers struggle to pronounce (T.J. Houshmandzadeh or Tshimanga “Tim” Biakabutuka), not to mention the many timeless nicknames (“The Refrigerator” or “Pork Chop”).

To celebrate the 2011 NFL season kick-off, we at WhitePages decided to play our very own NFL Name Game. In the following infographic, we took a close look at both real and fictional players from the past and present, with a few wild cards thrown into the mix. So, here’s to a season full of unforgettable plays and more importantly, NAMES! Enjoy…
