twelve

When I was a kid I knew I’d grow up and be a rock star. People would pay money to see me sing and dance and entertain them and I’d be dripping in diamonds and have champagne and caviar and lobster every night. I’d have my friends be my back up singers and they’d live the life of luxury right along with me. We’d travel to exotic places and relax in hammocks hung between Palm trees. Then one day it hit me. I can’t sing.

But, it’s okay! Because now there is twelve. And on twelve I AM a rock star. And I can sing and dance, and even though people don’t pay money to see me, they ARE entertained. I’ve traded the champagne for the soda in the fridge, caviar for ice cream sandwiches and lobster for burritos and pretzels in the freezer. And I have friends with me. Our hammocks are ridiculously large, comfortable bean bags, and we travel to exotic places like bowling alleys and boxing rings (wii, it’s fun!). We get exclusive rink-side seats to air hockey games for FREE, and on Friday we all get lunch catered right to us. On twelve I am living the dream!
